Currently, the film is being booked for events, educational, library, and group screenings — Bring the film to your town, school, or organization!
KQIB is a powerful, impactful and engaging film for audiences to have discussions and learning around the topics of gender, identity, expression, and drag itself. As an entertaining film that raises important topics, KQIB creates a space for inquiry and open discussion of complex topics.
The film’s booking fee is typically $650 for a screening and $150 for additional screenings at the same time/event. Bringing the director, a producer, and/or one of the film’s stars for a Q&A or discussion event/panel involves covering travel and a speaking honorarium of $400.
We sisters want the film to be accessible to all, so work with you to make it fit for your budget. For instance, one way to make this easily affordable for your group is to work with other groups for multiple screenings in one trip, thus sharing the costs between organizations.
We look forward to working with you to bring KQIB to your group. Contact us at kqibfilm AT gmail DOT com.
Get ready to get your Pride on, as The Wexner Center will premiere the film in Columbus on June 7 at 7 pm, with a celebratory reception co-sponsored by Stonewall Columbus at 6 pm.
We got a special discount code for friends and KQIB family to give tickets for only $7; here is a direct link to share for purchasing discount tickets (with the code NFKINGS already input for convenience).

NEW YORK PREMIERE
Inviting viewers into a conversation about the distinct and important differences between gender, sex and sexuality, “Kings, Queens & In-Betweens” makes a complex subject approachable for mainstream audiences. Set in Columbus, Ohio, and using the door of drag as an entryway, the documentary presents the spectrum of male, female and trans experience while bringing light to issues of gender and identity–-all with humor, big hair and duct tape.
Within the context of a battleground “swing” state, drag troupes–which include midwest marvels Nina West, The Reverend Roy Rogers, and Dr. Cool Ethan–gear up for main stage performances, dedicate themselves to extensive rehearsals/planning, and put their own money into this form of creative expression, community involvement, and political activism.
NewFest has selected KQIB for their 2017 inaugural event, with a special panel discussion after the film with performers Dr. Cool Ethan, Sile Singleton/Luster Dela Virgion, Kari Kerning (current Miss Barracuda), producer Jennifer Burton, and director Gabrielle (that’s me!). See the invite attached and spread the word. Now is such an important time to gather people to discuss where we are and what we can do to move progress forward.
